Cobb Sizing Tester
Water absorptiveness of sized paper and board
The Cobb Sizing Tester determines the water absorptiveness of sized (non-bibulous) paper and board using the Cobb method. A precisely machined clamping ring with quick-lever lock holds the specimen while a measured volume of water is poured onto the surface. After the standard contact time controlled by a digital timer, excess water is removed and the specimen weighed. The difference gives the Cobb value in g/m². This simple, reliable test is essential for sizing control, liquid packaging qualification, and water-resistance coating validation.
