Brightness, opacity and colour measurement — Precision in Every Reflection — TI/BT/ISO-135
Measures ISO brightness, opacity and colour of paper, board and related materials. ISO brightness is the reflectance of blue light (with an effective wavelength of 457 nanometers) measured under carefully controlled geometric and photometric conditions. ISO opacity, in accordance with ISO standard 2471, measures directly with this meter. R₀ is obtained by measuring the reflectance of a single sheet backed with a black material. R∞ is obtained by measuring a single sheet backed by multiple sheets of the same material. ISO opacity, the ratio R₀/R∞, is automatically read out by the instrument. Custom filter selection provides accurate agreement with the ISO 2471 spectral response function at an effective wavelength of 557 nanometers. A dual-beam optical system effectively cancels out drift due to voltage and temperature.
