A precision dead-weight thickness micrometer for measuring the caliper (thickness) of paper, board, film, foil and similar sheet materials. The instrument uses a Mitutoyo digital indicator with 0.0001 mm (0.1 µm) resolution mounted on a robust cast body. A lever-operated lifting mechanism raises the upper anvil, the specimen is placed on the lower anvil, and the dead weight contacts the specimen with a defined pressure. The reading appears instantly on the digital display. Zero, ABS and SET functions simplify measurement workflows.
